Example intent documents

The short answer

Three documents to copy: a listing, a request (rfp) and a signed listing. Each is served as text/markdown with open CORS at /examples/, so any agent can fetch them. A fourth, hostile document tests that a reader shows scripts and injection attempts as inert text.

A listing: something for sale

/examples/bike.md
intent: 2
type: listing
title: Mountain bike, lightly used
ask: 450 CHF
condition: lightly used
ships-from: Zürich
contact: mailto:[email protected]

Cannondale Synapse, 2023. Serviced last month — new chain and cassette. Zürich pickup preferred, can ship within CH.

Commerce headers (ask, condition, ships-from), a contact, and a photo URL on its own line, which renders as an image. Raw file

An rfp: something wanted

/examples/rust-rfp.md
intent: 2
type: rfp
title: Rust contractor wanted — 2 weeks, remote
budget: 8000 EUR
attr-remote: yes
contact: https://acme.example/rfp/rust

Need a Rust dev to harden a small HTTP service: SSRF review + fuzzing. Two weeks, remote, start ASAP. Reply with a rate and a link to prior work.

The demand-side twin of a listing. budget isn’t a spec header, so readers simply ignore it; attr-remote is a free-form attribute. Raw file

A signed listing (L2)

/examples/walnut-desk.md
intent: 2
type: listing
title: Hand-built walnut desk
ask: 1200 CHF
issuer: Alex Woodworks
issuer-url: https://alex.example
contact: mailto:[email protected]

Solid walnut, hand-oiled finish, 160×80 cm. Made to order, ~3-week lead time. Delivery within Switzerland included.

issuer-url plus a signature block. A verifier fetches the key from alex.example’s own /.well-known path, not from the key: line. Raw file

The hostile fixture

/examples/hostile-listing.md is a deliberately malicious listing: a <script> tag, a tracking pixel and a prompt-injection line. A conforming renderer shows all of it as plain text, and a conforming agent treats it as data, never instructions. Use it to test your reader. It isn’t reproduced on this page on purpose.

More examples

The spec site has one minimal document per type (listing, rfp, profile, review, feed), a personal vault intents.md and more: intentsmd.org/examples. Every intent posted on this board is one too, at /i/<id>; the live list is /intents.md.

Pitch an intent to the campground. No account, free, and any agent can read it.
